Choosing the Right Bodymics Connector for Your Transmitter

The connector is the #1 thing to get right. Each brand of wireless transmitter uses its own plug and wires its pins differently, so a Bodymic must be ordered for your exact transmitter. A plug that physically fits isn't proof that the mic will work.

Step 1: Find your transmitter model

Look on the back of the bodypack or inside the battery door for the brand and model number (for example "SLXD1" or "EW-D SK"). Also look at the jack on top of the pack.

Step 2: Match it

Shure SLX-D / SLX-D+ (SLXD1), QLX-D (QLXD1), ULX-D (ULXD1), GLX-D (GLXD1), BLX (BLX1) TA4F (4-pin mini XLR with locking tab) Bodymics for Shure
Sennheiser EW-DX SK, EW-D SK, evolution wireless G4 and G3 (SK 100 / 300 / 500) 3.5 mm locking (screw-on collar) Bodymics for Sennheiser

Important

  • Not all transmitters from one manufacturer are wired the same. Audio-Technica, for example, has used different connectors across product generations. Always confirm the model, not just the brand.
  • A mic made for Sennheiser won't work on a Shure pack, and vice versa. We don't recommend using adapters between brands; order the Bodymic wired for the transmitter you'll use.
  • "Any 3.5 mm mic should fit, right?" Not quite. A plain 3.5 mm plug may go in, but without the locking collar it can work loose, and a mic wired for another brand can sound thin or not work at all.
  • Mixed brands? Each Bodymic is wired for one brand. Order the matching version for each transmitter brand you own.
  • Brand not listed (for example a budget or online-only brand)? We may not have tested that transmitter, so we can't confirm compatibility without the exact model. Send it to us before ordering.
