Understanding Bodymics Microphones

Bodymics are theatre microphones worn by performers: earsets, headsets, and hairline/lavalier (lav) mics. Stage Gear makes and supports them.

What you're buying

A Bodymics microphone is the microphone element the performer wears. It plugs into a wireless transmitter (the bodypack) that you already own or buy separately. The transmitter and the wireless receiver are separate equipment unless a product listing says otherwise.

That's why every Bodymic is ordered wired for a specific transmitter brand. See Choosing the right Bodymics connector for your transmitter.

The five choices

  1. Series (capsule size): Broadway, our near-invisible series and the best starting point for most productions, or Drury Lane, an ultra-miniature capsule for when the smallest possible profile matters most.
  2. Style: earset, headset, or hairline/lavalier. See Choosing a mic style, boom length and color.
  3. Fit: boom length for earsets, or placement for lavs.
  4. Color: to match skin tone or hair.
  5. Connection: matched to your transmitter.

Do I need a whole wireless system?

No. If you already own compatible transmitters and receivers, you can buy Bodymics on their own. If you need everything, see Show-Ready wireless systems.
