Solving Common Projection Image Problems
| Problem | Try this |
|---|---|
| Image looks dim or washed out | Keep stage light off the projection surface; check the projector isn't in Eco/low-power mode; check the color mode; consider surface reflectivity. See Projector brightness |
| Blurry | Adjust focus after the projector has warmed up; check the lens is clean; check the image isn't beyond the lens's range |
| Wrong shape (keystone/trapezoid) | Use lens shift first, then minimal geometry correction. See Image alignment |
| Image is mirrored or upside down | Change the projection mode (front/rear, ceiling/floor) in the menu |
| Edges cut off, or black bars | Match computer resolution and aspect ratio to the projector; check overscan settings |
| Colors look wrong | Reseat or swap the video cable; check color mode; check the content itself on another display |
| Flicker or dropouts | Swap the cable or adapter; lower the resolution; check long-run extenders |
| Actor shadows | Reconsider placement: an ultra-short-throw lens placed upstage reduces shadows. See Throw distance |
